This was a painting made for my dad! Throughout my childhood, we took a lot of road trips, and he would always blast Jamyang Dolma and other Chinese singers.
I really loved Jamyang’s songs in particular, which described the vast and beautiful landscapes of Tibet – lush green grasslands, winding rivers, and snowy mountains. It made me nostalgic for a place that I had never visited.
This painting was my imagination of the romantic and pristine world I heard at that time, and an image that I connect closely with my dad.
