This painting emerged while listening to Muse’s album, Absolution. Their music has such intense pacing – escalating or doing sudden drops, building up pressure and exploding – that fills me with a sense of urgency. There are so many different sounds layered together, inspiring complex visual interpretations of my own. And the vocals, so emotional and uninhibited, unlock a corresponding intensity to simply feel, create, and live life fully.
End of the World is a response to that aliveness, sharpened by the awareness of an ending. -
